Currently, my art practice focuses around concepts of negotiation and is heavily influenced by feminist theory. Negotiations with self and other, identity, nature, perceptions, memory, and the gaze are common themes in my work. Many of these concepts take form in my sculptural work through an examination and reconstruction of the body and the spaces and structures surrounding our bodies. As I seek to unfurl issues of identity and experience I find I want to reclaim the body as a site, render it problematic, and examine it as a negotiable object. The majority of my work manifests as sculpture but I am equally interested in using new materials, video, audio, performance, and photography.
